A businessman close to the Serbian ruling party lost his 10 million Euro yacht in a fire at the Portonovi marina in Montenegro, Vijesti daily reported.

The fire aboard the Ramonda, owned by Ivan Bosnjak, was tackled by firefighters from the shore and on boats but the yacht burned down to its hull and was towed to a separate dock.

The Ramonda’s owner is also co-owner of the Millenium Team company which is reported to be close to the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS). The yacht is registered in St Vincent and the Grenadines, Vijesti said.

Firefighters said the 30-meter yacht was manned by its skipper and two seaman when the fire broke out, adding that it had 8,000 liters of fuel on board. The firefighters couldn’t put out the fire with the equipment they had and decided to tow it.
