Serbian dairy farmers blocked a road in the west of the country protesting over low milk prices and imports.

About 1,000 dairy farmers blocked the Ibarska Road near the city of Cacak, spilling milk and demanding that the government introduce immediate measures to rescue the dairy industry. They also demanded a ban on milk imports and higher premiums and subsidies.

No incidents were reported during the 45 minute road block protest.

Serbia experienced a serious milk shortage at the end of 2022 with claims that milk was being exported by the authorities. The shortages ended with imports of milk from several European Union member states.
