Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said on Monday that the authorities in Pristina are the greatest threat to the peace and stability of the region.
Speaking at a reception on Diplomacy Day, Dacic called the diplomatic corps to make sure all agreements reached in the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue process are respected and protect the Kosovo Serbs in line with all resolutions and declarations by international organizations. “Don’t take Serbia into a difficult position, do what is up to you,” he said, adding that no one believes that they have no influence over Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
“Unless the practice of taking unilateral steps is stopped, they will become a threat to the stability of the region,” the Foreign Minister said.
He said that Serbia is truthful when it insists on the territorial integrity and sovereignty of every international community member but that it faces harsh violations of those principles in the case of Kosovo. “Tearing away part of a state against its will is unacceptable for any state and opens the door to lawlessness and force instead of diplomacy,” Dacic said.
The reception was not attended by the Russian Ambassador.
