Serbian FM says Serbia, Transport Community share priorities

Selakovic told Matej Zakonjsek, Director of the Transport Community Permanent Secretariat, Serbia is determined to remove all border obstacles that hamper economic cooperation in the region and is committed to the full implementation of the “Mini Schengen” initiative proposed by President Aleksandar Vucic.

Selakovic said that Serbia, as the host country of the Permanent Secretariat, “attaches special importance to its successful functioning and is determined to continue cooperation and provide all necessary assistance”. According to the Foreign Minister, the country’s priorities coincide with the priorities of the Transport Community and “the state undertakes significant activities in terms of reconstruction and modernisation of railways, intensive investment in building quality and modern road infrastructure, as well as increasing traffic safety”.

“The Minister underlined that Serbia will be active at all levels in order to facilitate transport at the borders and through contacts with neighbouring EU member states in order to establish the so-called "Green Corridors",” the press release said.
