The Serbian Government adopted Thursday a Decree on the distribution of incentives in agriculture and rural development in 2023, for which funds in the total amount of 23.12 billion dinars (1 euro – 118 dinars) have been allocated, said a Government press release.

It said that incentives are designed to support underdeveloped areas of agricultural production in the best way, as well as areas with difficult working conditions, by improving the competitiveness of agricultural farms.

These measures are the main subject of harmonization with the schemes of the European Union (EU) Common Agricultural Policy, so that the gradual transformation is carried out as part of the process of accession to the Union, the Government said.

The Action Plan for the implementation of the Digital Skills Development Strategy in the Republic of Serbia for the period from 2020 to 2024 and from 2023 to 2024 was also adopted at the session.

The Government also adopted a Decree on the allocation and use of funds for subsidizing protected natural assets of national interest in 2023, in the total amount of 355 million dinars. The Decree covers the following areas: nature protection and climate change, environmental protection not classified elsewhere, incentives for management programs of protected natural assets of national interest and public non-financial companies and organizations.

A Decision was adopted to set up a Body for the Coordination of Road Traffic Safety Affairs, whose goal is to monitor, direct and coordinate activities related to reducing the number of traffic accidents and their consequences, as well as to implement the National Road Traffic Safety Strategy, said the press release.
