Serbian Government adopts new minimum wage for 2026: 371 dinars per hour

The Serbian Government on Thursday adopted the Decision on a regular increase in minimum wage to amount to 371 dinars per hour (1 euro - 117 dinars), representing a rise of 10.1 percent, which will apply from January 1, 2026, it said in a press release. It also adopted a bill that prohibits the placing of illegally harvested timber on the market.

With the increase in the minimum wage rate adopted Thursday at the Serbian Government session, the minimum wage will amount to 64,554 dinars or 551 euros from January 1 next year, the press release specified.

“This represents an increase from 404 euros in 2024 to 551 euros. The minimum wage is determined per working hour, excluding taxes and contributions, for the calendar year no later than September 15 of the current year, and applies from January 1 of the following year,” the Government said.

The Government also adopted the Bill on the Placing of Timber and Timber Products on the Market, which prohibits the placing of illegally harvested timber on the market, as well as timber products obtained from such timber.

“With these legal provisions, domestic legislation is being harmonized with European legislation in the field of environment and climate change, and these provisions are also part of the European Union’s policy to combat illegal logging and related trade,” said the press release.
