Serbian Government: Conclusion on forming Working Group for Law on Higher Education annulled

The government said that this decision aligns with an agreement between Prime Minister Djuro Macut and University of Belgrade Rector Vladan Djokic. The agreement aims to preserve the integrity and credibility of the University of Belgrade, ensure its financial stability, and create conditions for the regular operation of higher education institutions.

Since Monday, members of the academic community, organized under the University in Rebellion initiative, have been protesting and blocking the intersection outside the government building. One of their key demands was the dissolution of the Working Group.

They are also calling for the annulment of a government decree on standards for university operations and the urgent adoption of funding allocations for university admissions by the end of June.
