Serbian government lowers duties on petrol

The government also banned exports of wheat, flour, corn and sunflower oil.

The limits on fuel prices take effect on Friday, March 11 and will be in place for 30 days. “The decision was taken to prevent upsets and maintain living standards following a recent rise in oil prices. The decree sets the maximum retail prices and obliges fuel retailers to continue providing fuel only into vehicle tanks,” a statement said after the cabinet meeting. The decree means that petrol stations can’t pour fuel into cans.

Duties on leaded and unleaded gasoline and gas oils have been reduced by 20 percent.
