The government press release said that Serbia was reported to have achieved growth which was twice that of European Union member states in terms of innovation based on official data. It quoted the European Commission report which said that Serbia has achieved noteworthy growth in all areas.

Serbia is now at the level of 66.2 percent of the EU average compared to 2018 when it was at 58 percent and is far above that average in some areas. The press release said that the achievement was the result of government investments in innovation, science and education as well as private sector investments. According to the government, the number of people working in the IT industry is twice what it was less then four years age, standing at more than 40,000 this year.

“An increasing number of companies are developing their own innovative products and that is proved by the sales of domestic IT companies for hundreds of millions of Euro. The report said that additional investments will help Serbia grow,” the press release said.
