
The Serbian government’s Socio-Economic Council opened talks with Serbian Unions and the Finance Ministry on the minimum wage in 2022.
This year, the minimum montly wage is 30,900 Dinars (1 Euro – 118 Dinars) and the government is proposing a raise to 35,000 Dinars next year. Some 350,000 people are paid the minimum wage. Under Serbian labor laws, the government, Employers’ and other unions have to reach agreement on the minimum wage by September 15 or the government will set the minimum wage for next year on its own.
Employers have been speaking out against recent proposals to raise the minimum wage.
