Serbian Government to set up AI Council

The Serbian Government adopted a decision to establish a Council for Artificial Intelligence for a period of five years, which will be tasked with aligning and coordinating activities related to the implementation of the strategic framework for the development of artificial intelligence.

It said in a press release that the Council will also be responsible for monitoring the implementation of planned measures and activities, including the Artificial Intelligence Development Strategy in Serbia for the period 2020 to 2025. It will oversee the state, needs, and standards of the development and application of artificial intelligence in Serbia and globally.

This working body will also have an advisory role and draft proposals, recommendations and standards, provide opinions and expert explanations on all issues related to the development and use of artificial intelligence in Serbia, said the press release.
