Serbian Health Ministry ordered to employ 1,000 new doctors

The Serbian government instructed the Health Ministry to give jobs to 1,000 new doctors, a press release said after a cabinet meeting on Thursday.

It said that the Health Ministry was instructed to “take all measures within its competence to employ 1,000 graduates of faculties of medicine in the health institutions of the Republic of Serbia and nable uninterrupted, efficient and continuous provision of the necessary health care to all citizens”.

The new doctors are to be employed in sectors of the health care system which lack personnel in line with the staffing plans of individual health care facilities and the Republic Health Insurance Fund.
