The Serbian Defense Ministry said that live fire exercises with the Orkan M-87 missile systems are underway in the area around the southern city of Nis.

The ministry press release said that the exercises are part of training for professional enlisted personnel and officers on the 262 mm missile systems. It said that Orkan batteries would train to deploy, identify targets and conduct live fire exercises.

“The added training for professional personnel is part of regular activities by the Army of Serbia (VS) to ensure that personnel are trained for multiple duties within their service branches, raising their resilience and combat readiness,” the press release said.
