Serbian Agriculture Minister Branislav Nedimovic confirmed on Wednesday that certain imported ice creams were being recalled because of high levels of ethylene oxide.
He said that the Bounty, Snickers and Twix ice creams were imported by the Mars Balkans East company. Mars ice creams were recalled for the same reason in Poland earlier.
Nedimovic told the pro-government TV Prva that the ice creams being recalled were imported from the France. Serbia was warned of the problem through the EU Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) alert system on August 2. The high levels of ethylene oxide were initially detected in Spain.
