Serbian mother Dijana Hrka enters 15th day of hunger strike, bus operator Milomir Jacimovic on day seven

Dijana Hrka, the mother of Stefan - a young man who died one year ago when a station canopy collapsed at the railway station in Novi Sad - has entered the fifteenth day of her hunger strike. Meanwhile, bus operator Milomir Jacimovic, who says he has been prevented from working due to his support for protesting students, is on day seven of his hunger strike.

According to an N1 reporter, all information regarding Hrka’s health condition comes from military veterans who are guarding her tent outside the National Assembly building. They say her condition is unchanged and currently stable. On Tuesday, she visited a private clinic where she was examined and given IV fluids. Medical supervision has been arranged for her, and she is expected to visit the same clinic again today for additional examination and treatment.
They also noted that she is weak and that her supporters are increasingly concerned about her health, but emphasized that the final decision about continuing the strike belongs solely to her.
Meanwhile, bus operator Milomir Jacimovic is on his seventh day of a hunger strike in front of the provincial government building (Banovina) in Novi Sad.
He told N1 that he feels “fine” and that his condition is stable.
“I’m OK, doctors were here this morning. It’s normal that I no longer have the strength I used to, but that’s how it is, we will endure until the end. I don’t expect anything big. I’m in good condition, although I’ve weakened a bit - that’s normal, everything is draining out of me… What can I do? When they took my last bus the other day, that was it for me - I’m as good as dead, so whether it ends this way or another, it makes no difference,” he said.
