A Serbian citizen, identified as A.C. (born 1970), has been detained in Sarajevo by officials from Bosnia and Herzegovina’s (BiH) Service for Foreigners' Affairs. A.C. had previously been declared a national security threat and was subject to a five-year ban on entering or residing in the country.

Authorities discovered that the individual was illegally residing in the country and had links to organized crime. In light of the national security risks posed, A.C. was placed under supervision at the Immigration Centre. Officials have confirmed that the deportation process is underway, and A.C. will be removed from Bosnia in the coming days.

The Service for Foreigners’ Affairs has reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying efforts aimed at detecting and preventing illegal migration. They also remain focused on identifying foreign nationals residing unlawfully in the country, as part of ongoing measures to safeguard the nation’s security.

The institution’s statement emphasized that these actions are a crucial contribution to maintaining peace and order in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
