Three conservative opposition parties called a protest for the day before Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic is due to meet with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti to hammer out a roadmap to implement the European Union-proposed agreement to normalize Belgrade-Pristina relations.

The leaders of the Dveri movement, Oathkeepers and the New Democratic Party of Serbia (NDSS) called for a protest in front of the Serbian Presidency on Friday, March 17 to warn the authorities not to accept the proposed agreement which, they said, could lead to Belgrade recognizing Kosovo.

The EU proposal was presented to Vucic and Kurti earlier this month but it was not signed. EU envoy Miroslav Lajcak met in Pristina and Belgrade with top officials to prepare the Saturday, March 18 meeting in Ohrid. US envoy Gabriel Escobar met with Vucic in Belgrade and is due in Pristina before going to Ohrid.
