Serbian Parliament Speaker Ivica Dacic said on Tuesday that the inter-party dialogue mediated by European Parliament officials will begin early next month.
Dacic told the Serbian state TV (RTS) that he expects the dialogue between the authorities and non-parliamentary parties in the presence of European Parliament officials to begin between July 8 and 11.
He said that he would be going to Berlin on Friday to meet with Bundestag officials and to Brussels on Monday to meet with the president of the European Parliament, adding that the inter-party dialogue will be one of the topics in those meetings. “Part of the talks will be devoted to that issue, that is the question of their agenda because it’s high time to start that part of the dialogue. That depends primarily on the agenda of the MEPs, not on myself. The thinking now is between July 8 and 11 when they could come to Belgrade but that has not been confirmed yet,” Dacic said.
Serbian non-parliamentary parties who do not want MEPs present in the dialogue met with representatives of the ruling parties and President Aleksandar Vucic on Monday.
