Serbian PM Brnabic:  Kurti lies about Kosovo Serbs

Reacting to Kurti's claim that Serbs in the North of Kosovo do not pay for electricity and water costing Kosovo’s taxpayers 320 million euro and an additional 17 million euro for water since 1999, Serbian PM Ana Brnabic said that this is another lie from Prishtina.

She said in a Twitter post that “this is just another example of the audacity and lies of Albin Kurti”.

Kosovo declared unilateral independence in 2008. after bloody war in 1998/99 which was resolved with NATO bombing. Ever since, there is dispute between Belgrade and Prishtina about jurisdiction over certain issues in Kosovo.

THe Director of the Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic tweeted earlier that “Belgrade financially supported power consumption in the North of Kosovo, from November 2009 to December 2020 with over 171 million Euro”.

Kurti accused the Serbs of increased power consumption for crypto currency mining and marijuana growing.
