Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said on Wednesday that the safety of journalists is a priority for the Serbian authorities.
Speaking at a regular monthly meeting of the Working Group for the Safety and Protection of Journalists, Brnabic said that the issue will remain a priority whether the criminal code is amended or not, the government said in a press release.
The meeting discussed misdemeanor charges filed against journalists during the recent road-block protests, it added.
The press release said that Brnabic requested a report on so-called SLAPP law suits which have been filed against journalists and the media as a form of pressure.
