Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said that the UN Security Council is showing huge respect for President Aleksandar Vucic by allowing him to join in its session via video link, bypassing every protocol.

“I am proud that I will be with the president during the UN Security Council session at these difficult moments four our country. I believe that the president’s speech will be historic and that our people will be proud,” Brnabic said.

The UN Security Council is scheduled to debate the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals and hear reports from its President Carmel Agius and Prosecutor Serge Brammertz. The session will open after an appeals panel publishes its ruling on the life sentence handed down by the tribunal against Bosnian Serb war-time military chief Ratko Mladic.
