Four Serbian police and Gendarmerie officers were arrested on weapons, explosives and drug charges, the Internal Affairs Ministry said on Friday.

A statement said that two Gendarmerie troopers, a Belgrade police officer and an agent with the International Operative Cooperation Department were arrested by Internal Affairs Sector officers.

They were charged with running checks and providing security for criminals in return for payment, as well as drugs, arms and explosives possession.
