Serbian power grid reports record-high consumption

EMS chief dispatcher Dragan Rakic told the Serbian state TV (RTS) that 10 percent more power was consumed on Monday than a year earlier, specifying that a total of 103 Gwh was consumed.

Power consumption has gone up from the start of the heat wave that hit Serbia and the Western Balkans region in the past week.

According to Rakic, the EMS is prepared for possible emergencies. Power grid failures were reported in other Western Balkan countries recently.
