Serbian prosecutors launch investigation into retail chains

The sources said that the Higher Public Prosecution’s Anti-Corruption Department is looking into the price-setting practices of Delhaise, Merkator S, Univerexport and DIS. The investigation comes after the Commission to Protect Competition initiated proceedings against those four companies for setting prices by mutual agreement.

The Commission found that the prices of a number of products sold by those retail chains were identical or similar even though the procurement conditions were different.
