Serbia's Special Court ordered a 30-day detention for tow police officers suspected of aiding the leader of a criminal organisation after his arrest in the major police operation against organised crime in almost two decades.
They are suspected of hiding evidence against Veljko Belivuk and his group during his apartment’s search and of allegedly taking a more considerable sum of money found there.
The Nova.rs website has unofficially learned that one of the detained police officers defended himself by silence, while the other spoke to a deputy prosecutor.
The officers were caught trying to hide evidence thanks to surveillance devices planted by the state security agency before the search.
