
The Republic Statistics Office (RZS) said on Tuesday that Serbia’s GDP grew by 13.7 percent in the second quarter of 2021, compared to the same period a year earlier.

Seasonally adjusted data shows that the GDP grew by 1.3 percent compared to the first quarter of the year. The RZS said that significant growth of 33.3 percent was reported by the wholesale and retail industries, vehicle repair, traffic, storage and accommodation and catering industries. Growth was also reported by the industrial sector as well as water supply and waste water management, expert, innovation and techical activities and administration and services of 30.9 percent.
Industrial production was 1.7 percent higher in July this year than in the same month a year earlier. The RZS said that industrial production grew by 7.8 percent in the January-July period compared to the same period of 2020. Industrial production in July 2021 rose in the 16 sectors that account for 64 percent of all industries and dropped in the remaining 13 sectors.
