The Vecernje Novosti pro-regime website accused on Wednesday United Group and its founder and Advisory Board co-chairman Dragan Solak of shutting down Russian media in Serbia, nova.rs reported.

Under the headline 'Solak Quashed RT: Attack on Media Freedom', the website said that SBB, the UG's cable operator, excluded Russian state media' Russia Today' (RT) and 'Sputnik,' from its offer in another ill-founded attack on the group and Solak.

The article accuses the media owned by United Group "of conducting a fierce offensive against Serbia's state and authorities for days because they refused to impose sanctions on Russia" and that "Dragan Solak shut down the Russian state television (RT), so that SBB users are therefore cannot follow Russian news either on TV or on the EON platform."

At the same time, the website fails to mention that those two channels are also not in the offer of the state Telekom Serbia anymore. That followed Eutelsat's decision to disable those TVs signals for the EU member states and other countries, including Serbia.

Earlier on Wednesday, Radio Free Europereported that the EU had suspended the distribution of 'RT' and 'Sputnik,' believing they were Kremlin's tools for disinformation and manipulation of information.
