Crowds of Serbs gathered in front of the municipal administration buildings in Zvecan, Leposavic and Zubin Potok on Friday, protesting peacefully and repeating their demands, local media reported.

Radio KiM said that the protesters want the withdrawal of Kosovo Police special forces from northern majority-Serb municipalities and they want the ethnic Albanian mayors (elected in a vote the Serbs boycotted) not to enter the municipality buildings as well as the release of Serbs arrested during a violent protest in Zvecan on May 29.

KFOR troops removed the barbed wire from around the municipality administration buildings, the radio said and added that soldiers from the US contingent played soccer and volleyball with local children on Thursday evening.
