A shot was fired at the window of an opposition leader in the southern city of Nis in the night of Saturday-Sunday.
Dr Dragan Milic, a cardio surgeon heading an opposition group that won seats at local elections, said that the police determined that the hole in a window in his home was a bullet not a stone. He said he didn’t hear the shot during the night but found the small round hole in the morning.
Milic said police forensics experts spent several hours in his apartment doing a thorough investigation. He said they assume the shot was fired from a building across the street but that it was a small caliber and could not break through the window pane.
He said this was an attempted assassination not a warning and is “a consequence of the madness we live in”.
