Six dead, including four children, in Novi Sad fire
Six people, including four children aged between 2 and 7, were killed early Friday in a house fire in the city of Novi Sad, said Ivica Dacic, Serbia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Internal Affairs Minister.
The fire broke out in the Salajka neighborhood of Novi Sad at around 3 am.
The police suspect that the cause could have been a charging electric scooter, said the Internal Affairs Ministry.
The fire was put out by the Emergency Situations Sector personnel and the city’s fire brigade, while the police and the public prosecutor conducted an investigation.
“The Ministry of Internal Affairs is actively investigating all the details of this tragic incident,” said Dacic.
