The European path of Serbia and the Western Balkans has no alternative, and Slovenia will provide all the necessary assistance and support on this path, said Slovenian Special Envoy for the Western Balkans Anzej Fragnes.

Brnabic said that, in spite of all the challenges that Serbia faces, the European Union (EU) remains its strategic priority, said a press release issued by the Serbian Government, Fonet reported.

Stressing that, in terms of values, partnership with the EU is of exceptional importance, Brnabic said that Serbia deeply believes in the continuation of reform processes that are key to building a better society for its citizens and that significant progress was achieved in the area of the rule of law in the last two mandates.

Regarding the economic situation, the Prime Minister said the biggest global challenge at this time is in the field of energy, and that the economy’s further growth is conditioned by the energy situation, so, accordingly, energy projects will be among the future Serbian Government’s top priorities.

Brnabic said Belgrade remains committed to finding a solution and continuing the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, but that even after almost ten years since the signing of the Brussels Agreement there has been no progress in the implementation of the obligations undertaken by Pristina, especially regarding the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities.

Brnabic and Franges assessed that the current level of bilateral relations between Serbia and Slovenia “is extremely good” and that there is readiness on both sides to maintain the current dynamics of cooperation, said the Serbian Government.
