SNS MP Orlic: Serbian Parliament to have six deputy speakers

MP of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) Vladimir Orlic said on the party’s website that the nine parliamentary groups that attended the consultations will propose that two deputy speakers be from the ranks of the SNS, one each from minority national communities – Hungarians and Bosniaks, one from the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS), and one from the opposition ticket We – The Voice of the People.

Orlic said the number of women among the parliament's top officials is certain to be higher than ever.

Under the agreement reached at the consultations, two opposition groups will head the parliamentary Committee on the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region, and the Education, Science and Technological Development Committee, said Orlic.

An agreement on the makeup of parliamentary delegations was also reached, and a delegation to the joint Republic of Serbia - Republika Srpska parliamentary forum will be formed for the first time, said the information posted on the SNS website.

The consultations in the Serbian Parliament were not attended by MPs of the opposition Serbia Against Violence ticket, NADA ticket, and by some MPs of the We the Voice of the People – Dr Branimir Nestorovic ticket.
