Spanish Ambassador to Belgrade Raul Bartolome Molina said his country’s position is clear – it does not recognize Kosovo’s independence, it defends Serbia’s territorial integrity and supports the mediation of the European Union (EU).

Spain supports the mediation efforts of the EU in accordance with the terms of the Brussels Agreement, as well as the efforts in finding a way to normalize relations between Belgrade and Pristina, which would lead to a final solution to the conflict, Ambassador Bartolome Molina told the daily Politika ahead of Spain’s six-month Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

He said the Spanish Presidency will focus on four priorities, as publicly presented by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez on June 15.

These include promoting the reindustrialization of Europe and ensuring open strategic autonomy, moving towards ecological transition and environmental adaptation, consolidating the social pillar and strengthening European unity, said the Ambassador.
