Any constructive contribution to the European Union (EU)-facilitated Dialogue, under which the Association/Community of Serb Majority Municipalities (A/CSMM) is being discussed is welcome, said EU spokesperson Peter Stano.

Stano said EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell is in constant touch with the leaders of the region and EU member states.

“As stated many times before, the discussion on and drafting of a Statute for the Association/Community can only take place in the framework of the EU-facilitated Dialogue,” said Stano.

He added that an invitation to a first drafting session of the A/CSMM on expert level was sent to both Parties for 5/6 June, but that the meeting could not take place because of the escalation on the ground.

EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue Miroslav Lajcak travelled to Pristina and Belgrade instead, said Stano.

“The EU as Facilitator of the Dialogue is ready to host the drafting session soon and is in touch with both Parties,” said the EU spokesperson.
