European Commission spokesman Peter Stano said that the European Union is prepared to call a meeting of top officials from Belgrade and Pristina once tensions ease in the north of Kosovo.
He said that EU and US envoys Miroslav Lajcak and Gabriel Escobar will report on the situation after their visits to Belgrade and Pristina on Monday and Tuesday. Stano said that the envoys are in the Western Balkans to see if tensions are being eased and steps being taken to find a solution within the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue as demanded by the EU and US.
Stano said the EU is prepared to call a top-level meeting with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti as soon as the conditions are right.
