European Union (EU) Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue Miroslav Lajcak has invited Belgrade and Pristina chief negotiators to a meeting on Wednesday in Brussels to “continue discussions on finding a sustainable temporary solution for the people affected by the decision of the Kosovo Central Bank on cash operations,” said European Commission spokesperson Peter Stano on Monday.
“The European Union expects both parties to show flexibility and readiness to reach a compromise,” Stano told a press briefing.
He said the EU expects Pristina and Belgrade to find a solution acceptable to both sides, which “first of all answers to the needs of the people” affected by the Central Bank of Kosovo decision to ban the use of the Serbian dinar in cash transactions.
