Statistics office: More deaths than births in Serbia in January

The RZS reported a decline in births in Serbia for January 2025, with 333 fewer births -representing a decrease of 6.3 percent - compared to the same month last year. The number of deaths also decreased by 729, or 7.1 percent, compared to January 2024.

In January 2025, the total number of births was 4,978, down from 5,311 in January of the previous year, marking a drop of 333 births or 6.3 percent. The total number of deaths in Serbia for January 2025 was 9,535, a decrease from 10,264 in the same month last year, which reflects a decline of 729 deaths or 7.1 percent.
