Statistics Office: Production of wheat, raspberries, sour cherries expected to drop

The production of wheat, raspberries and sour cherries is expected to drop compared to last year, the Republic Statistics Office (RZS) said Monday.

Data on the expected production of wheat in Serbia according to the estimations of crops on May 23, 2023 shows that the production of wheat is expected to be 2.9 million tons, which is a decrease of 15.9 percent relative to the production output in 2023.

Compared to 2023, the production of raspberries is expected to decrease by 4.7 percent, and that of sour cherries by 5.5 percent, said the RZS.

When compared to the previous year, estimations show that in the 2024 spring sowing there was an increase of maize by 4.1 percent, of sugar beet by 12.4 percent, of sunflower 3.4 percent and of soy by 3.8 percent, said the Statistics Office.
