The Republic Statistics Office (RZS) said on Friday that more deaths than births were recorded so far this year compared to 2023.
The RZS said that there were 44,553 births in the January-September period of 2024 compared to 45,551 in the same period of 2023, a drop of 998 of 2.2 percent.
It said that the number of deaths in the January-September period of 2024 stood at 73,728 compared to 71,881 in the same period of 2023, a rise of 1,397 or 1.9 percent.
