Statistics office says more than 300 patients per doctor in Serbia

It said that the finding was based on the fact that there were 21,343 doctors in the country in 2023 as well as 1,616 dentists, 1,332 pharmacists and 46,106 nurses.

According to the RZS, there is one hospital bed per 161 patients (a total of 41,087 hospital beds).

The RZS compared the average stillborn rate in the European Union and Serbia – 14.7 in Serbia and 10.8 in the EU.

It said that the average lifespan for men in Serbia is 73.9 years and 78.7 for women compared to 78.7 for men in the EU and 84 for women.
