Borko Stefanovic, the deputy leader of the Freedom and Justice Party (SSP), said today that the European Union is ready to send two expert missions to Serbia, one from the European Parliament (EP) and the other from the European Commission, which will be tasked to determine what happened in the elections on December 17 last year. Speaking to Nova daily, he said that the government cannot prohibit the work of any international commission, because Serbia is a member of the United Nations, the OSCE and the Council of Europe and is also a candidate country for the EU membership.

“I would say that it would be a complete political overthrow and disintegration of the regime, if the European expert commission was physically forbidden to enter Serbia,” he assessed.

Stefanovic noted that the delegation of the ‘Serbia against violence’ list will hold a series of important meetings in Brussels and Paris at the beginning of next week.

“We will talk with the officials of the EU foreign policy service and with the director general of the EU Enlargement Directorate. We expect to have a meeting with (EU special envoy for Belgrade-Pristina dialogue) Miroslav Lajcak as well. We will also have a forum at the European Movement in Brussels. In Paris, we will talk with representatives of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and President Emmanuel Macron, who are in charge of European and Balkan issues,” said Stefanovic.
