Stefanovic: Senior policeman sends Djindjic assassin birthday greeting

“This birthday greeting to Zvezdan Jovanovic, the convicted assassin of Zoran Djindjic, was posted by Ivan Ristic, head of the notorious Unit for the Protection of Facilities and Persons (JZO) of the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs on WhatsApp reels. The man who succeeded Kricak as head of the JZO is celebrating the killer of Zoran Djindjic,” Stefanovic wrote in an X post.

The deputy leader of the Party of Freedom and Justice (SSP) recalled that Ristic was among the last policemen recruited into the Special Operations Unit (JSO) which Zvezdan Jovanovic served in. That unit was disbanded after Djindjic was killed. It’s long-time commander Milorad Ulemek Legija is serving a 40 year sentence for his involvement in the Djindjic assassination.
