Stoltenberg: I am in regular contact with Vucic and ready to meet

Stoltenberg was commenting Vucic’s recent statement that he would ask for a meeting with the NATO Secretary General and for an urgent UN Security Council session because of the situation in Kosovo.

“We are concerned about the increased tensions in Kosovo and we call on all parties to de-escalate and refrain from any action that can further increase tensions in the region,” Stoltenberg said.

He added that NATO is present in Kosovo and that it has increased its presence due to the instability, violence and tensions over the past few weeks.

We have the KFOR forces there to ensure security and stability for Kosovo and the people living in Kosovo, and we are executing our mandate in an impartial manner, said Stoltenberg.
