University students in the southern Serbian city of Nis started an indirect blockade of institutions at the offices of the National Employment Service on Friday.
A number of students walked into the employment offices to ask if they need a membership card of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) to get a job.
One of the students who identified himself only as Luka said the goal is an indirect blockade of institutions. “Students also want to know what really is needed to get a job in this country, whether a party membership card or jobs in Caciland (a humorous/derogatory name given to the regime supporters’ camp outside the presidency),” he said.
Dozens of students waited in line to ask employment office staff if they needed to be members of the SNS to get jobs.
“They told us a party membership card is not needed,” one of the students told N1.
