Students blockading the Serbian state TV (RTS) building in central Belgrade forced out two young men they identified as provocateurs who were filming them and posting videos on social media.

The students told N1 that the same men have been harassing Dijana Hrka, the mother of Stefan Hrka, a young man who died when a concrete canopy collapsed at the Novi Sad train station on November 1, 2024.

On Tuesday afternoon, students pushed the two men out of the fenced-off area in front of the public broadcaster’s building, claiming they were deliberately provoking the protestors and recording them.

“They come here every day, provoke all of us, and post the videos on TikTok. They’ve been harassing this poor woman, her child was killed just five months ago. They have no shame,” said a young woman who was part of the group that removed the men.

A potential altercation was defused by a plainclothes officer from the Criminal Police Department, who showed his ID after being asked by Dijana Hrka.

When asked by N1’s reporter whether the young men had been harassing her, Hrka confirmed that they had.

One of the men finally spoke up, denying the allegations. “No one harassed the woman,” he said, accusing the students of charging at them and stepping on them.

The officer from the Criminal Police Department then escorted him away, his arm around the young man’s shoulder, guiding him out of the crowd.
