Belgrade University agriculture students published a timeline of the assault and threats against their fellow student.
A MUP press release said that the student, identified by the initials AP, gave a statement to the police on Monday with her lawyer present denying that she had been injured by police officers and added that she had never been in a police station and was not on the photographs published by the Students in Blockade.
The girl students was arrested, physically assaulted during a police interrogation and later threatened in front of her workplace. The Internal Affairs Ministry (MUP) denied her claims. The agriculture students are demanding an internal affairs investigation which would include prosecutors and protection for the girl.
“We feel it is our duty to publish a clear timeline of events through the statements of the School of Agriculture in Blockade based on evidence and the testimony of our fellow student,” an Instagram post said. It added that the case shows the constant pressure suffered by women in Serbia, including a MUP statement which revealed the full name of the student as well as other which undermined her safety. The post also called all media outlets to refrain from upsetting the girl student and respect her right to privacy and safety.
