Another meeting related to the European Union (EU)-facilitated Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue will be held on Tuesday, March 19, confirmed EU spokesperson Peter Stano.

The meeting had previously been announced by US special envoy for the Western Balkans Gabriel Escobar.

Stano said both sides’ chief negotiators, Petar Petkovic and Besnik Bislimi, have been invited to a meeting with EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue Miroslav Lajcak in Brussels on Tuesday.

He said they have been invited to continue the discussions, which started a few weeks ago, on the Kosovo Central Bank’s decision regarding the dinar.

Commenting on the fact that the previous meeting was not attended by Kosovo Government representatives, Stano said the invitation was sent to both parties and that it was left up to them to decide who they would send to the meeting.

He stressed, however, that some issues that came as a result of Kosovo’s unilateral actions need to be discussed by chief negotiators.

In addition to the dinar, other most pressing issues will also be discussed on Tuesday, as well as the implementation of the Ohrid agreement, Stano added.

Escobar discussed with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti in Pristina on Friday the situation created following the banning of the dinar. He said this was a humanitarian issue and that the Kosovo Government needs to be flexible in the dialogue discussions on Tuesday in Brussels.
