Teachers stage protest at Education Ministry

The teachers staged the protest because the ministry has failed to respond to any of the demands they made on February 6. The gathering included university students in a show of support for the elementary and high school teachers.

The teachers want the student demands met, improvements to the education system and better security in schools as well as higher media visibility for their demands primarily on the RTS. They also want talks with unions.

The march first stopped in front of the union headquarters to hear a speech and then continued on to the RTS.
