The Serbian Army (VS) will soon receive a new special elite unit which will function under the name "Eagles", the Balkan Security Network portal reported.

According to the portal, the unit will function as part of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade from Pancevo, as the third combat battalion.

The portal adds, referring to the formation changes published in the Official Military Gazette, that „Eagles“ will be a battalion for operational support for special operations, in addition to the existing „Falcons“ battalion, which serves for anti-terrorist operations and „Griffons“ for reconnaissance and sabotage tasks.
