Thousands of students to march from Belgrade to Novi Sad on October 30

They added that due to an unprecedented number of registered participants — more than 4,000 students and high schoolers — organizing the march poses a major logistical and safety challenge.

“Our team is doing everything possible to ensure safety, accommodation, and basic conditions for everyone who will be walking. That’s why we ask all citizens who wish to join the procession to do so independently, with their own accommodation and logistics, as we, as students, unfortunately cannot take responsibility for everyone. Otherwise, we urge you not to embark on this endeavor,” the students said.

They expressed gratitude to all citizens who support them daily.

“It will be an honor for us if you welcome us at the designated rest stops — so that we can share a hug, a smile, and the strength to continue — and that you save your energy for the gathering on November 1,” they added.

The students have announced a large commemorative gathering for November 1 to mark the anniversary of the canopy collapse in Novi Sad.

Students from the State University of Novi Pazar have already begun their journey to Novi Sad, planning to walk for 16 days in memory of the 16 victims. They arrived in Divčibare last night.
